15 july Madrid (SPAIN)

Meeting again the people with whom you shared difficult moments of your path, your life, supporting each other, pretending that everything was always going well in any case even in a hellish place and away from your beloved ones is weird. Meeting us again carefree, in civilian clothes, during our everyday life, relaxed, calm ... is surprisingly funny!

After Sylwester's Poland, here I am in: Spain!

My Spanish love: the famous "jamon Serrano".

I've eaten all the quality and all the quantity ... But after that what a thirst!

> In Alcalà de Henares, Miguel de Cervantes' birth place, the inventor of the funny and dreamers Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, who are chatting converse with me here.

< Segovia's cathedral.

Architectural jewel just in front of Plaza de Ayuntamento.

< What really made the city famous: his Acueducto dating back to Roman times.

> Segovia's speciality: "Cochinillo" (small pig)...

Looking back I'm almost sorry to have eaten it...

< El Alcazar, a military castle that controls the whole city and that reminds us of the Arabic time.

El Escorial. The magnificent monastery that King Felipe II ordered the construction and housing still, in a more reserved wing, of a group of S. Augustine monks.

< The city center with the famous building: Metropolitan.
< El Retiro. Madrid's park and Paseo de Barcas. Inside the park you forget to be in a big city.
> Plaza del Sol. The square also contains the famous clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of a new year.
>Everywhere posters remind us that a few days ago the national football team was crowned "World Champion".
< El Templo de Debod, dated Egyptian time and given as present by the Egyptian Government.
< La Fuente de Cibeles, the place where Real Madrid supporters meet to celebrate the many successes of their favorite team.

Museo del Prado. It features one of the world's finest collections of European art, from the 12th century to the early 19th century, based on the former Spanish Royal Collection.
> Plaza Mayor. The biggest and most important square of the Spanish capital.
< El oso y el madroño. Madrid's symbol.
> What a disappointment to discover that a such advanced country as Spain, still allows people smoking quietly in restaurants and pubs. I really was no longer used anymore, thankfully!
> Pans & company. The franchise that I love and that allows you to eat, at any time, a good jamon sandwich (I recommend the "Norman")
Las Ventas. The biggst ring bull of the world
<The famous stadium of Real Madrid: "Santiago Bernabeu. On the bench waiting to enter the field ... (Maybe!)
< During the presentation to the press immediately after the purchase.

One of the three gates in the oldToledo
> Isabel and Sergio, Kabul's friends
< Toledo from the high
> Toledo's Gothic cathedral.
