24 march Pointe-à-Pitre (GUADELOUPE)

In the morning we arrive at Pointe-a-Pitre, the island's lively town center.

Here too, the same disappointment as in Martinique, there are no flags of the place around and at the post office, they almost seem offended if you ask for a Guadeloupian postage stamp, perhaps to collectors, and not French one!

We decide to enjoy the whole day at the beach!

We cross the colorful fruit market, then the rich spices one and finally the picturesque fish market, with fishermen who clean the various tropical fish freshly caught.

By bus we reach Le Gosier and we stop to La Datcha, local beach: excellent choice!

We are the only tourists and we relax all day long with our kids! They frolic on the shoreline with their microscopic feet and with that clear water that occasionally get wet them, surprising them all the time.

The sea is beautiful, full of cheeky pelicans flying awkwardly along the water, sometimes diving to catch some small fish.

We envy the locals or the French who live here and who, for a one hour break from work, are here in this earthly paradise!

The center of Pointe-a-Pitre is a chaotic maze of streets where you only sell chinoiserieand chic stuff!

Time to leave... We depart to St Kitts and Nevis! I can’t wait!
